4 easy steps

How We Work

Phone us, request a call back or simply complete and return our referral form. We will do the rest.

Initial Contact

Initial Contact

After we receive the referral form, we will provide you both with information about mediation and invite you in for your initial assessment meetings.

MIAMS

MIAMs

Initial assessment meetings are sometimes called a MIAM [Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting]. You both attend separately. You talk. We listen and assess whether mediation is suitable and we can help your family.

If mediation does not proceed, we will issue you with a signed declaration form completed by the mediator which will enable you to proceed through court if you choose to do so.

Mediation Meetings

Mediation Meetings

These can be joint or shuttle sessions. Joint means face to face. Shuttle means you both see the Mediator independently of each other and she spends time with you both separately. The Mediator is the facilitator in the meeting, she will guide, set ground rules and help you have a productive meeting to move matters forward. You set the agenda, make the decisions and stay in control of the outcome.

Final Paperwork

Final Paperwork

Once you have reached a resolution, we will provide you with a record of the parenting plan reached or Memorandum of understanding covering all financial aspects of your separation or divorce. We prepare this for you both and discuss with you how this can become legally binding.
